Mollydooker Winery - 2005 Vintage Preview

The exciting new wines from veteran winemakers Sarah and Sparky Marquis will be here in the US in August 2006.  Sarah & Sparky who are both Mollydookers ( left handed ) decided to have a bit of fun with their labels and represent the funny side of being left handed.

Robert parker just review their four entry level wines with amazing scores.  It is exactly what we predicted after personally tasting the wines on June 2, 2006.  Soon the wines will be in the States but after tis review, readers should start lining up your sources.

The wines will be distributed in 20+ US States by Southern Wine & Spirits.  The wines are being imported to the US by Grapes International. You can contact Nicky Fox at Grapes International at: nicky@grapesinternational.com.au

Sarah and Sparky will be visiting the United States in July for a series of private tastings and discussions on their new project.  If you would like to attend of these VIP events, send us a e-mail:

Mollydooker Wine Portfolio

These are the wines that will be offered by Mollydooker on their first release:

The Violinist - 2006 Verdelho  (14.99 Retail)

This label will depict a left handed violinist in an orchestra causing havoc amongst the right handed violinists. As a child Sarah had to learn to play the violin right handed for this reason. This wine was created from the best Verdelho they had picked. The flavor intensity is amazing. It is quietly sitting in barrel for a month before they bottle it.  I can't wait to taste this unique wine.

The Maitre d’ – 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon ($19.99 retail)

The left handed waiter. Sparky used to be a Maitre d’ as a young university student. This is a great wine that truly expresses the Cabernet grape. It has a seamless structure with long smooth tannins and lovely fruit flavors.

Two Left Feet – 2005 Blend ($19.99 retail)

Poor ol’ Sparky is known for his two left feet, because he stands on Sarah’s feet every time they dance. The wine is a blend of 65% Shiraz, 19% Merlot and 15% Cabernet. This wine exudes all three varietal characters in a strong and harmonious way.

The Boxer – 2005 Shiraz ($19.99 retail)

This is a great illustration of a boxer (South paw) with two left gloves. The Shiraz is a knock out. This is why we chose this name for this wine. It’s full of fruit with layers of chocolate and spice and lovely hints of oak.

How Much Do Mollydooker Wines Cost?

The four initial Mollydooker wines will retail for under $20 a bottle. Sarah and Sparky's is for the wine lover to experience a WOW effect when they drink these wines. The wines express Sarah and Sparky's hard work and dedication in their vineyards to achieve maximum fruit complexity and color.   Look for two higher end wines in the Fall of 2006 called Enchanted Path and Carnival of Love.

Mollydooker fruit comes from vineyards in South Australia, from the regions McLaren Vale, Padthaway and Langhorne Creek. Sparky’s dad and his team visit each vineyard twice a week throughout the growing season to develop the vines to produce grapes of exceptional quality.

Mollydooker's Fall releases Enchanted Path and Carnival of Love are  sourced from our top Shiraz and Cabernet vineyards in McLaren Vale.
